     Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Michelle was naturalised as a Canadian citizen at 9. In middle school, she received training in conventional painting techniques.

​

THEATRE

     She received her BFA and MFA in Theatre Design and Production at the University of Victoria. There, she was Costume Designer for The Madwoman of Chaillot (2017) and Marowitz' Hamlet (2012). She was also Costume, Props, and Set Designer for Theatre Inconnu, working on shows including Scorched (2009-10), Moscow Stations (2010-12), and The Walworth Farce (2012).

FILM

     More recently, she has delved into the industry of film. She was a props builder and on-set assistant for Pup Star: Christmas (2018).

​

WRITING 

     Apart from visual projects, she enjoys writing stories. In her spare time she has written and illustrated a picture book named The Daughter Who Gave Out of Love (2018), and she has recently finished manuscripts for a novel trilogy, An Island in the Pit (2012-18), and its spin-off novelette, Mama's Jewels (2018).

​

     Story-telling, both through words and through visual representation, is her ultimate passion. She wishes to continue creating work to share with others, thereby freeing the various universes that exist in her head.
